We created tools that we use every day to help us choose colour in our artwork. Perhaps they can help you too.
Does this sound familiar?
You want to create with colour – but…
You’re not sure what colours to choose. It seems to take a long time to choose a colour harmony and then a colour combination.
Then when you do decide, you don’t know which of your coloured items to use.
After all that – you’ve lost the creative urge. You put your art and craft away for another day. You go back to a colour palette you know. Or someone else tells you what colour to choose.
But you want to create with colour – colours that you choose.
your head hurts thinking about it…
Here are the nuts and bolts of colour theory that you face when you start to create artwork.
There are 10 main colour relationships, and these relationships hold over 90 individual colour sub-relationships. Yet, within these 90 odd colour sub-relationships, there are hundreds of possible colour combinations. Then on top of that, you need to consider that colour combination’s colour temperature mix.
And… you still need to decide what colours in your art and craft stash to use.
We feel your pain.
so we’ve created something to help you…
Because we’ve been there too, we developed a series of digital products and courses that drills down into each colour relationship, or colour harmony.
You can use these products to help you quickly find colour combinations.
find colour combinations, and know which colours to use.
We really don’t want you to stress when choosing colour.
You can select your preferred colour sub-relationship, or colour harmony.
You’ll know which colours to use.
You won’t be putting your art and craft away. Neither will you need to go back to the colour palette you know. You won’t need to rely on someone else telling you which colours to use.
Soon you will be creating with colour – using colours that you choose.
Let’s drill down…
It all starts here…
We have tried to create order from the confusion of a simple red yellow blue colour wheel.
We broke down a colour wheel step by step. From this, we found 91 individual colour sub-relationships, or colour harmonies. We gave them numbers. Then we took closer looks at each one of them.
From those closer looks, we created tools to help you find more information about each of them.
The ‘colour harmony’ tools (or products) can be used for a wide range of mediums that use colour. You choose which ones you like. We provide the listed coloured pencil brand items for your convenience.
We created a handy interactive non-printable pdf document that holds 91 colour sub-relationships, 91 colour temperatures, and 960 colour combinations in one easy to view document.
