Taking a closer look at the colour wheel
Do you find it frustrating trying to find a colour combination, or colour relationship for a particular colour wheel colour family? Do you find it difficult to figure out which pencils to use in that colour relationship? If so, then we have something to help you.
We also found it difficult to select colour harmonies to use in our art and craft. So, to help us understand colour, we undertook exercises and created colour wheels using different mediums, including a range of coloured pencil brands, and found colour relationships. As part of the exercise, we drilled down into each colour relationship, and found colour sub-relationships, and colour combinations. Then we created example illustrations to show what these sub-relationships, and colour combinations look like.
This page provides 23 colour sub-relationships which include violet-red.
