Taking a closer look at the colour wheel
Do you find it frustrating trying to find a colour combination, or colour relationship for a particular colour wheel colour family? Do you have a hard time trying to figure out which pencils to use in that colour relationship? We hope we have created something that will help you.
We also found it difficult to select colour harmonies to use in our art and craft. So, to help us understand colour, we undertook exercises and created colour wheels using different mediums, including a range of coloured pencil brands, and found colour relationships. As part of the exercise, we drilled down into each colour relationship, and found colour sub-relationships, and colour combinations. Then we created example illustrations to show what these sub-relationships, and colour combinations look like.
This page provides a list of 23 colour sub-relationships that include red-orange.
